Many tube collectors own a copy of "75 Years of Western Electric Tube Manufacturing" by Bernie Magers. However, few know that his first job in the tube industry was with Sylvania at their Shawnee, Oklahoma miniature tube plant. Bernie worked there from 1950 until the plant's closure in 1961. From there he went on to Western Electric's Kansas City Works. The clipping is from the March-April 1957 issue of Sylvania's in-house employee magazine the "Beam". Sadly, Bernie passed away in late 2007.
